After 2 years of staying away, Thermico is attending to the » ITSC 2008 in Maastricht again. Many innovations e. g. HVOF-Internal spraying with ultra fine powder have been developed. Thin coating thicknesses and outstanding characteristics qualify this process for being economical and innovative. In combination with the gravimetric powder feeder for standard and ultra fine powder, very precise feeding rates can be adjusted and realised. In this year Thermico will hold a dissertation about his latest developments. Come and visit us on our booth.
The operator may set the feed rate and the interval by himself. The visualisation was specifically developed so that the various ramps can be set individually. This machine was especially developed for parts which need different coating thicknesses without terminating the process.
On the 1st of March 2007 the General Manager of Thermico GmbH & Co. KG will represent North Rhine Westphalia before an EU Committee to refer about his experiences regarding EU Research Projects. The Main Focus lies on the research in Nanotechnologies and its positive effects on Thermico. As a successful project partner in the 5th Framework (Nano-HVOF) and 6th Framework (NADIA) the course is set for the 7th Framework regarding Hard-chrome replacement through nano structured carbide coatings. Well known representatives from the turbine industries build a consortium together with Thermico.

The venture is called “RELO-COAT” and concerns with the developing of a new powder manufacturing method for low friction and self lubricant powder types prior to replace hard chrome plating. Well-known manufacturer und R&D Institutes are in the consortium.
With our robot-based coating installation for plasma and high-velocity flame spraying (HVOF), Thermico participate in the development and extension of the robot and automation centre RACe, a focus of TechnologieZentrumDortmund which promises trend-setting impulses for Dortmund’s economic development. The result is a great synergy potential with existing skills in the sectors of biomedicine, proteomics, micro system technology, electronics, logistics and software.

Projekt Ruhr GmbH has classed and approved the RACe project as a communal development focus for the region. The RACe project is considered a model project for the development of Dortmund as an industrial and trade location.
In March of this year, Thermico notched up a tremendous success: following a 5-month delivery period, a plasma spraying centre for WSK, a subsidiary of the American engine manufacturers, Pratt-Whitney, was launched in Rzezów, Poland.
